When you are in the surrounding area of Leslie, the location of Sowega.net headquarter, you should visit Georgia Rural Telephone Museum, which displays one of the most complete telephone collections in the world, with more than 1,500 phones. Included is the 1875 telephone the Alexander Graham Bell took to the World's Fair in Philadelphia.

West of Leslie, you can visit Americus, home of the headquarters of Habitat for Humanity International. You should also check out the Windsor Hotel, which was established in 1892 and has been restored to its original Victorian condition, as well as enjoy a golf game at Brickyard Plantation Golf Club.

Also west of Leslie is the city of Plains, the hometown of President Jimmy Carter and the location of Jimmy Carter National Historic Site.

Go north to Andersonville, you can visit the worldly famous civil war cemetery at Andersonville National Historic Site, which was once one of the Civil War's largest Confederate military prisons.

If you are looking for relaxation or recreation, you can fish, swim, picnic, and play golf at Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park next to Lake Blackshear, Cordele. Its Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf Club displays the charm and elegance of southern hospitality combined with contemporary architecture and sophisticated styling. Cordele/Crisp County is also the Watermelon Capital of the World. July brings in the harvest and a month long festival.
